Join us for a screening of the Oscar nominated film “The Voice of Hind Rajab”. The story of the Red Crescent volunteers in Gaza who receive an emergency call from 6-year old Hind. She and her family were besieged by the Israeli Defence Forces who killed the rest of her family while they were trapped in a car. The volunteers try to keep her on the line while they do everything they can to get an ambulance to her.
The film is devastating and though you hear it in the real life recording of the Red Cresent’s call with Hind, the film does not show the violence Hind and her family experienced.
1:29 minutes, rated Mature for violence and coarse language.
The Guardian described the film as “provocative docufiction (that) is fierce, urgent and heart-shattering” and to help us process the grief that may come up during the film, two local grief workers will hold a session for attendees after the film.
